Why TourneyBit Exists

Hi I’m Mike. I am the guy behind TourneyBit, and its products TourneyBox™ and tourney.now. I started TourneyBit because I love friendly competition. Competitions bring people together and bring out the best in people. I have always loved participating in impromptu tournaments with my friends and family, whether it is playing ping pong or playing Mario Kart. It truly brings me joy to get involved in the minutiae of setting up the bracket, keeping score, and tracking stats.

TourneyBit continues to be the culmination of a lot of passion and desire to create a tournament management platform that gets out of your way and lets you run and enjoy the tournament. As an organizer, you should be able to both run and participate in your tournament without taking away from the experience. And not only should it NOT take away from the experience, a tournament platform should bring even more delight to it. And that’s what I am working toward by prioritizing mobile-first and accessible design, optimal flows with limited steps for setting up and running a tournament, and an ad-free experience.

tourney.now is the quickest way to run a tournament on the fly. No login or sign up necessary. Only one screen of setup and customization and you’re on your way to either gathering signups or starting the tournament if you already have your signup list. After running your tournament, all the results and data from your tournament is emailed to you so you can keep them forever.

With TourneyBox, you as an organizer can set up your own tournament server, fully own your experience and data, and customize things how you see fit. Even deploying the software is designed to get out of your way with only a single binary to deploy and run. You can get going running tournaments right away with the built-in web-based tournament experience, or spend some time building out a completely custom experience via the API.

As I continue to build out these products for tournament organizers and participants, I want to incorporate your feedback every step of the way. That’s why I set up a public site to collect feedback and display the roadmap at feedback.tourneybit.com. On the feedback site, you can propose new features, report bugs, and upvote features to help with prioritization.

Additionally, you can feel free to reach out to me at [email protected] to further discuss feedback or if you would like to collaborate.

Let’s create some awesome tournament experiences together!
