Double elimination and leaderboard formats are now available on TourneyBox™ and tourney.now!
Double Elimination
Double elimination is a common competition format where participants are not eliminated after an initial loss, leading to participants playing more games. It is a bracket-based tournament like single elimination, typically represented with a winners’ (W) bracket and losers’ (L) bracket. Competitors drop down into the L bracket after an initial loss, and the winner of the L bracket reenters the W bracket with a chance to still win the tournament, making it distinct from a consolation bracket.
TourneyBox and tourney.now handle the complex details of running a double elimination tournament, including dropping losers into the expected slots in the L bracket, ordering the matchups optimally, and determining rankings. Standard add-on features like accepting signups and location management are also available in this format.

Leaderboard
Award points to competitors manually via the leaderboard format. Competitors are ranked in real time based on points accumulated during the competition. Additionally, related competitions can be added to a leaderboard so competitors and audiences can track competitions in other formats related to leaderboard rankings. Accepting signups is also possible in this format, and any added locations can be applied to related tournaments.
